Front page story

By the mid 1990’s Bishop Kevin Dowling of the Catholic Diocese of Rustenburg and Sr. Georgina Boswell realised that the HIV infection rate and the number of people with AIDS was reaching pandemic proportions in the region.  Resources available to deal with the effects of the disease were limited if not non-existent. Out of this realization was born the Tapologo Programme.  “Tapologo”, a Setswana word indicating the theme of “peace and rest” expresses well the Misiion of Tapologo which is the guiding response of this faith based community-centered outreach programme.  The programme is managed under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Rustenburg and consists of the following sub-programmes:

–                      Outreach and Home Based Care programme

–                      Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) programme

–                      Anti-retroviral Therapy (ART) programme

–                      In-patient Unit (IPU) and Hospice
